    Turkey and Poetry

Turkey day was a blast.  I spent most of my day dancing around the kitchen with my friend Mike as we cooked and cleaned our way to a Thanksgiving feast.  The little bit of downtime we had was spent playing Magic the Gathering with my daughters and Stephen, my husband.

I have thought a lot lately about the things I am working towards and the things I have already attained in my life journey.  I am eager to finish my MFA, but sad to leave the group of wonderful people I have grown and learned with behind.  I am excited about finding a teaching job and working on my publications, and I look forward to spending more time on some artistic projects that I have been working on alone and with friends.  I am thrilled that I am still envolved with myalma mater and have remained in touch with some of the best educators and friends I found there.

The next few weeks for me are going to be a handful.  I am trying to finish my thesis, work full-time, still see my kids and husband and memorize a few more poems for residency.  I wish everyone out there a happy holiday season.

    Ivy
