Getting started with my career goals!

I have been remiss in my postings, but the time has been used wisely.  Over the past month I have finished my next-to-the-last semester of graduate school, put together my CV and my teaching philosophy…oh and I found out that November 3rd Club is going to publish my poem, “Branches”.  I am still waiting to hear when it will come out, but I will keep you posted.  All in all the year has shaped up to be pretty sweet.

In other news, I submitted my first application for an adjunct position at Plymouth State University.  While I know it is a long shot, I am crossing my fingers, toes and eyes in hopes that I can get a couple of evening sections of Composition.

Submissions to journals for the year come to a total of 15 journals since July, and have gotten 3 acceptance letters, 5 rejections, and 7 pending response!  I am hopeful that 2009 will see the completion of my MFA and with that the completion of my thesis manuscript.  I am already scoping out great book publishers for poetry.  If you know of any drop me a comment and a link to their page.

In January and in March I will be linking to the journals publishing a few of my poems, and after they are published will be able to put them up on my site. So, keep checking back.  Thanks for reading!

    Ivy
