I came home from work today to find a box of my books! It hasn’t been a real thing until now. Of course my work was real, and I have seen my work in print before, but an entire book is a whole new experience. In just a few days I will be standing on the stage at AWP reading from a hot-off-the-press copy of Any Other Branch. A collection of poetry that has taken roughly nine years from the first poem on the page, to the release. In the last nine years I have gone from: undergraduate student at Plymouth State University/Licensed Nursing Assistant/mother of two (who were barely out of diapers), to adjunct professor at several universities and colleges/published poet/mother of two teenage girls.
I want to send my gratitude out to all of those who have supported me over the years, and to Salmon Poetry for believing in my work! I am trying to put together a tour down the east coast for the summer. Please let me know if you have local spot that I could contact!
